Ballet lessons are $50 a month from January to May and include classes on the Thursday afternoons that there is school in during these months. There are two exceptions- the class scheduled on January 30 will be made up on the Wednesday or Friday of that week (TBD as soon as possible, and update will be sent as soon as this is determined). And the class scheduled for the last day of school, May 22, will take place on Wednesday, May 21.
There will be no make ups or refunds for student absences. If the teacher is sick or if school is cancelled unexpectedly, the ballet class will be made up at the availability of the school as quickly as possible. Tuition will not be lower in months with a Thursday holiday (March).
There is a one time $65 costume fee, to be paid in January. If the dancer drops out of class before the show, the costume will be given to the dancer when it has been received by the vendor and no refund will be issued. The costume will be worn in a recital showcase, date TBD.
Payments can be made via Venmo or check.
Dancers will wear their school uniforms with pink ballet shoes for these classes. I recommend sending your child to school in a polo with leggings underneath a jumper so the dress can be put in their backpack for dance.
Pink (leather) ballet shoes can be kept by Ms. Sara so you don’t need to remember to pack them each week. If you’d like to give ballet shoes as a Christmas gift, you might consider these Capezios, these Blochs or this budget pair. Boys can pick their favorite black leather ballet shoe. If you’re having trouble deciding between two different pairs of shoes, I recommend getting one without an elastic on the top of the foot. Ballet shoes should be a snug but not overly tight fit. There can be excess material at the toes but not enough that you can pinch it between your fingers when the shoes are on.
Costume fees will include a costume, hair accessory and pink tights for girls and a costume for boys.
Toward the end of the semester we will have a recital showcase at Saint Paul’s one afternoon. The date will be announced by mid February and will likely be at the end of class one Thursday. For the performance, dancers will wear the costume and tights covered by the one time $65 fee. They will show their skills and perform their favorite dances.
While we keep our expectations developmentally appropriate and want this to be a fun learning environment, we do have behavioral standards for our ballet classes. Dancers who are repeatedly asked to follow the rules will be asked to take a break and watch for a few minutes to ensure the class is still able to work and learn. Parents will be contacted immediately after the class to discuss issues that arise.
Waco Ballet is directed by Sara Allison. Before restarting Waco Ballet at Saint Paul’s, Sara was the director of Waco School of Ballet from 2013-2023. Sara has an extensive background in classical ballet and is thrilled to return to directing this program once again!
